Addicted to the Wicked & Twisted – Palaye Royale is hitting their North American tour performing their latest album release Death And Glory.
Although their Austin, Texas date is the third-to-last stop on their tour, this doesn’t stop the show’s lineup from losing any energy.
First up on the lineup for the night, we had Diamante. The rock artist immediately had the crowd jumping with her 90’s rock-style music and her outstanding vocals. She performed 5 hits. Including her latest singles “1987” and “All For The Glory”. Diamante even grabbed a fan’s phone and recorded herself on stage. She went to meet fans at her merch booth afterward.
Next up was Weathers, who performed 7 of their hits, including “C’est La Vie” and “Happy Pills.” Those tracks served as their most iconic hits and fans sang along as loud as possible. The band even surprised the crowd with a rock cover of “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan. Lead singer, Cameron, also grabbed a fan’s phone to record and went up to his band mates recording themselves all singing along. They thanked the crowd and got them hyped for the next opener.
Rock band I See Stars was the last opener. Lead singer, Devin Oliver, had amazing vocals and knew how to get the crowd moving as the last opener and even starting some mosh pits. The band performed some of their hits, “Murder Mitten”, “are we 3ven?”, “Ten Thousand Feet”, and more from their latest album “SPLIT”. Devin thanked Palaye Royale for having them on the tour and talked about their 10-year friendship with the band, and how grateful he was to know them.
Ending the night, Palaye Royale finally took the stage. The crowd started to really pack in once it was time for Palaye to hit the stage, with many fans even fitting the part following Palaye’s iconic fashion aesthetic. With the lights going out, and the intro music starting, the stage had the crowd’s full attention, and out comes the band. With guitarist Sebastian coming out, followed by his brother and lead singer, Remington. The stage setup was huge and had some stand-up lights, an upper stage for drums, and a neon light-up sign with the tour name “Death And Glory” lit up.
They opened the show with their song “Nightmares”, followed by “Death or Glory”, and taking us back a few Palaye eras to “You’ll Be Fine”. The band’s setlist mainly consisted of newer hits from their most recent albums but did perform “Dying in a Hot Tub” from their older album “Boom Boom Room (Side B)” in dedication to their younger brother, Emerson, who left the tour recently to prioritize himself and mental health after the recent passing of the brothers mother, to which the band also performed their song “Fever Dream “ in dedication to her, with many fans putting their flashlights in the air for the song. The boys have always been vocal about their mother’s place in the band and how much of a hand she had in building up the career they have, so fans knew how special this moment of the show was to everyone in the room.
The band’s last song was “Pretty Stranger”. After leaving the stage, they had the crowd chanting “Palaye.” to which after a few minutes, the band came back out to perform 3 encore songs. “Dead To Me”, “Lonely”, and the iconic “Mr. Doctor Man”. Overall, the show itself was filled with so many emotions and energy so strong, that you could feel the ground in the venue shake. There was Remington with his strong vocals and even he and Sebastian both jumped into the crowd. Fans were moshing, pushing their way to get as close to the barricade to hold a band member’s hand, but mainly, there were many you could tell were overfilled with emotions of happiness, and even some tearing up with how amazing the show was and those who even had a deeper connection with the band and their music. Palaye has always been a band whose energy has been highly talked about, whether that be their concerts or just the boys themselves.
The “Death And Glory” North American tour has now hit an end since October 27th, but the boys are far from done. Starting November 1st and heading into early December, Palaye Royale will be on their EU/UK segment of the tour. Despite the many struggles and hardships the band has endured as of late, they’re still kicking strong and seem to be having a lot of fun on this tour and show no signs of slowing down.
