British alt-rock band Palace delivers an ethereal and deeply moving performance at the House of Blues over Houston on Sunday night.
Touring in support of their latest album, the band treated the audience to a setlist that effortlessly blended old favorites with newer, emotionally charged material. As the crowd trickled in, many were eager to get a glimpse of the band’s new material ahead of the release of their upcoming album Greyhound, set to drop on April 1st.
From the moment the band stepped onto the dimly lit stage, opening with the haunting “Intro/Cocoon,” the crowd was immediately entranced. The atmospheric instrumentals set the tone for the night, as frontman Leo Wyndham’s delicate yet powerful vocals soared through the venue. Seamlessly transitioning into “Goodnight, Farewell” and “When Everything Was Lost,” Palace had the room swaying in unison, lost in the lush soundscapes that have become their signature.

One of the night’s standout moments came early with “Lover (Don’t Let Me Down),” as Wyndham microphone in hand, and turned it toward the crowd. Without hesitation, the audience took over, belting out the lyrics in unison, their voices blending beautifully into one collective outpouring of emotion. This became a recurring theme throughout the night—whenever Wyndham sensed the crowd’s passion swelling, he would extend the mic once more, allowing fans to sing their hearts out. The connection between artist and audience was electric, as if everyone in the room was part of something greater than just a concert.
The harmony between the band and the crowd continued to build—whether it was through the deep basslines of “Bleach” or the wistful melancholy of “Gravity,” each song carried an emotional weight that resonated deeply. The collective voice of the audience reached new heights during “Live Well,” a clear fan favorite. When Wyndham once again turned the mic outward, the room erupted, fans taking the reins as he smiled in appreciation, momentarily stepping back to let their voices fill the space.
“You guys are truly incredible,” he mused between songs, his gratitude evident. Moments like these felt intimate and rare, as if the band and audience had become one in the music, feeding off each other’s energy in a way that made the night feel special, even among a long string of tour dates.
The night reached its peak with “Heaven Up There,” a cathartic moment where time seemed to stand still. As Wyndham guided the audience through the song’s soaring choruses, he once again leaned toward the crowd, letting them carry the melody. The sound of hundreds of voices singing in unison created a spine-tingling moment of pure connection.

The lighting throughout the night was a work of art in itself, perfectly complementing the band’s dynamic range of melodies and lyrics. It captured every emotional peak and dip, intensifying the atmosphere and making the show even more unforgettable. Palace’s performance was a beautiful mix of raw emotion and tight musicianship, and it was clear that the band had poured their heart and soul into every moment.
Palace then closed out the main set with “Bitter,” one of my personal favorirtes, sending the crowd into a euphoric frenzy before briefly stepping offstage. But Houston wasn’t ready to let go just yet. The encore brought “Forever Ever After”, which is their brand new song and the hauntingly beautiful “Veins,” wrapping up the evening on a note of quiet transcendence. As the final chords faded and the band took their final bows, it was clear that Palace had once again delivered a night to remember—one filled with introspection, release, and the unshakable power of music. Listening to Palaces’ music is one thing, but experiencing it live is nothing short of a spiritual awakening.
