Oh Wonder and Winona Oak Play a Stunning Show at House of Blues Anaheim

Oh Wonder plays at the House of Blues in Anaheim.

Oh Wonder brings on an electrifying show to Southern California with special guest Winona Oak.

On Sunday, London based alt-pop duo, Oh Wonder, pumped up the audience at House of Blues in Anaheim with a stunning show of energetic performances and fun music. Opening for the headliners was Swedish singer-songwriter, Winona Oak, in which she performed a set with her band. Her music meshed genres of electronic and dance pop – reminiscent of early Lana Del Rey. There were sweet moments during her performances where she reached across the barricades to hold hands with fans at the front of the house, followed by cheers from the audience. She performed songs from her two EPs and is set to release her debut album later this month.

After Winona’s set, audiences automatically cheered when the main acts of the night entered the stage. The performers included recently wed husband and wife music duo, Oh Wonder, which include Anthony Vander West and Josephine Vander West. The set included music from their most recent album, 22 Break. In between numbers, as the musicians spoke to the audience, Josephine mentioned how the album was actually made during their almost-breakup amidst the recent COVID-19 pandemic. She stated, “During the pandemic, we kinda broke up….but then last year we got married.” Fans cheered at the happy couple’s reconciliation. The show continued with the musicians performing more of their hit songs including “Landslide” which found popularity on Tiktok through a remix of the number. As the show came to and end, the duo provided the audience with an encore of two more songs including a radiant performance of their song “Hallelujah” with the lights of the venue accompanying the artist, following the beats of the music.
