From dark, gritty riffs to heartfelt moments, Novulent performed an unforgettable show at The Secret Group in Houston.
The doors opened, and the venue quickly filled with an excited crowd as Olive Vox greeted fans with open arms. The band, originally from Orange County, California, and now based in Dallas, Texas, exuded the warm southern hospitality. As they signed merchandise and posed for pictures, it was clear that they had a genuine connection with their fans.
Known for their captivating stage presence, Olive Vox lived up to their reputation as true performers. The band’s chemistry was evident as they delivered an electric performance. A standout moment came during their unreleased track “Running After You”, where guitarist Caden impressed the crowd with an extraordinary solo riff. The energy only escalated as the night went on, culminating in a playful moment where the guitarists wrestled with their instruments before handing one to a lucky fan. Meanwhile, drummer Ben offered a unique keepsake to another fan, signing his drumsticks and gifting them as a memento of the evening.
Following the electric performance from Olive Vox, the stage was set for The Missing Peace to take over. They kicked things off with a dramatic entrance, as lead singer Luke Amato leapt onto the stage from the crowd, instantly igniting the energy in the room. From there, the band delivered a classic hardcore performance, with Luke and guitarist Lazarus leading the charge. Their relentless energy had the crowd moshing and crowd surfing throughout, creating a chaotic yet exhilarating atmosphere. The Missing Peace proved they’re masters of engaging the audience, keeping the intensity high from start to finish and leaving everyone craving more.
The anticipation was over as Novulent and his band stormed the stage, greeted by the deafening roar of the crowd. The opening track from his latest EP Before Evolution, “Death Wish”, set the tone for a dark and heavy performance. Novulent’s infectious smile and lighthearted energy brought an unexpected warmth to the room. His connection with the audience was palpable, creating a balance between raw intensity and a sense of camaraderie.
As the night continued, the atmosphere grew even more intimate. Novulent asked the crowd to turn on their flashlights during “Molly and Sex”, as fog settled in, creating a surreal, glowing moment that felt almost dreamlike. Blurring the lines between fans, the rapper took selfies with fans using their phones, making the experience even more personal. The night reached its electrifying crescendo as Novulent closed with the fan-favorite “Scars”, leaving the crowd fully immersed.
With their high-energy performances, genuine connection with fans, and unexpected moments of camaraderie, Olive Vox, The Missing Peace, and Novulent proved they know exactly how to create an unforgettable live show.
