Opener The Japanese House and headliner Maggie Rogers bring the “Don’t Forget Me” tour to the Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas.
Last Friday, singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers continued her “Don’t Forget Me” tour at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas. On this tour, she was accompanied by indie musician The Japanese House. Inside of the sunlit venue, thousands of thrilled fans gathered in the pit, seats, and lawn.
The first act to hit the stage was The Japanese House, a pop artist from the United Kingdom. She has almost 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and her song “Saw You In A Dream” has garnered more than 120 million streams. Last year, she released her second album titled In the End It Always Does. The Japanese House’s touring band consisted of lead singer Amber Bain, along with her guitarist, keyboardist, bassist, and drummer. They kicked off their set with the track “Sad to Breathe”, and closed with “Sunshine Baby”. The Japanese House’s performance was mellow and engaging, and was a great way to start off the night.
The second act to hit the stage was Maggie Rogers, an alternative artist from Maryland. She has more than 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and her tracks “Alaska” and “Light On” have accumulated more than 200 million streams. In April, she released her album Don’t Forget Me. Maggie’s set began with film footage that was projected onto a screen, and afterwards she rose from a platform onto the stage. She wore a black flowy dress and black boots, and opened with her song “It Was Coming All Along”.
During her performance, Maggie interacted with her other band members and even dedicated “Love You for a Long Time” to one of their families who was in the audience. Her setlist incorporated several fan-favorite tracks including “Drunk” and “The Kill”. All in all, both The Japanese House and Maggie Rogers delivered strong performances that paired perfectly with the high spirits and warm weather.
