The Mysterines Make Their Stamp In Reviving the UK Rock Scene With Their Debut Album, Reeling.
Indie rock and alternative band from Liverpool, England The Mysterines first formed in 2015 undoubtedly marking the creation of an unstoppable rock and roll force. The four piece band consists of Lia Metcalfe (vocals), Paul Crilly (drums), George Favager (bass), and Callum Thompson (guitar).
The Mysterines released their first EP, “ Take Control”, in 2019 followed by another “Love’s Not Enough” in 2020. Both EP’s quickly gained attention with tracks such as “Bet Your Pretty Face” and “I Win Every Time” setting their stamp in the UK rock music scene.
The band recently released their debut album, Reeling earlier this year on March 11, 2022. The album includes 13 tracks packed with an angsty rock and roll attitude fused with grunge rock elements, distorted vocals, and heavy driven bass that cultivates the genre perfectly. Reeling takes you on a rollercoaster wave of dark emotions with punching lyricism that fuels your burning raging heart.
Their standout single from their album, “Life’s a B**** (But I Like It So Much)” is a pure hard hitting first introduction to their sound and gravitating stage presence. The track contains strong gritty vocals from Metcalfe and a rush of head banging drums all leading up to a massive build up crashing of riotous guitar licks and deep blaring bass riffs. Reeling ended up officially dominating the UK Charts reaching a shattering top 10 albums during its release. The album proved The Mysterines success in reviving the rock music scene with their kicking breakthrough grunge sound.
The Mysterines announced one of the biggest and most exciting news in their career yet. They will be a supporting act opening for Arctic Monkeys on their UK and Ireland leg of their 2023 tour in support of the release of their newest album The Car. At the moment, the band is currently on tour supporting AWOLNATION alongside Badflower with dates running across North America early October till November 2022.
Additionally, The Mysterines recently released their third EP All These Things that features live recordings from their Rough Trade set in London celebrating their debut album.
