León Larregui Brings ‘Prismarama’ to Houston’s House of Blues

León Larregui stopped by Houston to give us a taste of his new album Prismarama, joined by special guest Ryder the Eagle.

Ryder the Eagle took the stage promptly at 8pm, where he opened introducing himself as French singer based in Mexico. He sang songs like “Queen of the Rodeo” and “Wounded Bird,” with incredible saxophone solos all through out. During the middle of his set, he talked about his marriage to his childhood sweetheart that ended in divorce, followed by happy ending about him finding love again with new french partner Eloise. He wrote a song about her and entered the crowd in hopes to find his love, who was in the audience that night. The moment was heartfelt, and definitely woo’d the crowd.

León Larregui took the stage about an hour later, starting off with an incredible lightshow “Su Majestad La Eternidad,” followed by tracks “Oh Sunny Days” and “Aurora Boreal.” Larregui also mixed a few classic tracks from his first two albums such as “Birdie,” “Tiraste a Matar” and “Mar.” As he just released his third album Prismarama, Larregui and his band debuted a brand new song off the album called “Tripulantes,” where Larregui stated that he was a bit nervous to perform it for the first time. It translated over to the performance, but it was an overall great first try, and he stated that they’ll do better as time moves on. He ended the set with the fan-favorite “Brillas,” and came back for an encore to perform other songs like “Amantes” and “Locos.” Larregui is always associated with being the frontman of iconic rock en español band Zoé, but he is absolutely proving himself worthy as a solo performer. His music and live presence are immaculate, his quick interactions with crowd were giddy, and Larregui showed Houston that he was a musical force to be reckoned with.
