Opener Alex Chapman and headliner Kim Petras deliver iconic performances at the South Side Ballroom in Dallas.
On November 13, pop artist Kim Petras brought her “Feed the Beast” tour to the South Side Ballroom in Dallas. At this date, she was joined by DJ Alex Chapman. Before the show began, Kim’s fans steadily entered the venue and wore elaborate outfits that incorporated sequins, leather, fishnets, and more. The first act of the night, DJ Alex Chapman, got the night started. He played a fun and upbeat set that crossed decades and genres. His set included beloved pop and rock tracks such as Caroline Polachek’s “Bunny Is A Rider”, Spice Girls’ “Wannabe”, and Paramore’s “Misery Business.” Alex successfully got the crowd moving, and pumped up the audience for Kim Petras’ headline performance.
Kim Petras is a singer-songwriter originally from Germany. Over the past few years, Kim has released a series of EPs and albums, with her latest releases being Feed The Beast and Problématique. She has accumulated more than 22 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and her biggest hit so far is her collaboration with Sam Smith that has garnered more than a billion streams. Kim’s stage design was stunning and intricate, and included a rising platform, stairs, and LED screens. She kicked off her set with her track “Feed The Beast ”, and she was accompanied by a few of her backup dancers. Kim’s setlist incorporated almost 30 songs and several fan favorite tracks such as “King of Hearts”, “XXX”, and “Heart to Break”. Throughout the show, Kim Petras carried out outfit changes, unique choreography, and clear vocals, and proved that she has truly reached pop-star status.
