Opium member Ken Carson stops by Houston for early shows of his tour.
The Atlanta rap scene has been running the game for years, and now with a new alternative feel. Ken Carson has been leading this wave and other Opium members. This year he released the deluxe version of his album A Great Chaos and set off on tour with supporting act 2Hollis.
The venue was filled with young fans eager to be in the heart of the pits. The Houston underground scene popped out for Carson wearing all-black outfits and silver jewelry.
His stage set was a two-story metal structure that Carson moved freely throughout the night. The fog from the smoke machine filled the venue but did not let his shiny chain and black leather outfit peek through. He started his set with songs from his most recent album A Great Chaos like “Hardcore” and “Lose It”. His fans immediately started to open up moshpits and jumping up and down. The energy was something I had not seen before, the people were enjoying the chaos. For his early fans, he also played songs from his previous albums X and Project X. With the huge reaction certain songs got you could tell that Carson’s fan base is strong and loyal.
Carson continued to rock the stage and excite the crowd by saying “OPEN THAT PIT UP”, and the crowd did just that. Though the pits were having fun, they were also cautious when someone could not handle it anymore. They would make space for the person to get up and immediately flag for medical attention. This happened multiple times in the night, fortunately, the venue staff, security, and medical team handled it smoothly.
To end the night he played fan favorites like “Fighting My Demons” and “Singapore”. Ken Carson is continuing his tour across the states and then taking it overseas. This is a must-see show if you want to experience a night full of chaos and mosh pits. Stay safe!
