Just Wanna Rock: Lil Uzi Vert Brings the Pink Tape Tour to 713 Music Hall in Houston

On November 10th, Lil Uzi Vert performed an outrageous show at 713 Music Hall with support from DJ P for Real.

From hit songs and mixtapes to collaborations with rappers like Juice WRLD, Playboi Carti, Lil Baby and Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert is a known staple in the Rap community. Most recently, the rapper released his third studio album titled Pink Tape, which differed from his previous works as it included a more “alternative” and “metalcore” sound. The album features appearances from artists like BabyMetal, Bring Me the Horizon, Nicki Minaj, Don Toliver and Travis Scott – each feature has a unique input in every song, making it the most experimental album in Lil Uzi’s discography to date. It works well in his favor, and he has the most fun with it – especially in live performances.

Lil Uzi Vert kicked off his “Pink Tape” tour in Milwaukee on October 1st, and headed to Texas to play shows in Dallas, Austin and Houston. Houston was the last stop of the Texas trek – it’s safe to say that due to the intimate level at the venue, Houston was definitely the most rowdy. From multiple moshpits, crowdsurfers, and ragers, the rapper’s show never fell short and remained energetic from the second he jumped on stage to the moment her left. The best part of it all was the crowd – when someone fell, everyone collectively stopped to help them back up. Uzi never had to stop the show once, because everyone in the crowd knew exactly what to do.

The lights dimmed on stage and everyone immediately rushed to the front – Lil Uzi Vert jumped out on the highest platform and started with his song “Suicide Doors,” followed by “NFL” and “Of Course.” After performing “Money Longer” from his album, he walked into a door featured on stage where AI Anime Girls on the screen encouraged the crowd to yell his name. He came back to the stage and performed more hits, including “Aye” and “Fire Alarm.” After more Anime girl skits, Uzi took time to introduce himself to Houston, and gushed to the crowd: “I Love Y’all. I’m kidding, I have something else to tell y’all – I REALLY love y’all.” He then continued to play “Woke Up,” and the crowd went so crazy, a fan in the crowd hyped up everyone around them with their leg crutch.

For the final skit, he started with “Spin Again,” where a circle pit formed in the crowd and Uzi urged everyone to join. The lighting was beyond incredible, as it focused on Uzi’s stage and the crowds. During this portion of the show, he played his most well-known his “XO Tour Life,” and everyone in the crowd was singing along. He ended this portion with “Just Wanna Rock” – before starting, he mentioned how he found out the song was nominated for Best Rap Song at the 2024 Grammys that same day. The energy remained completely unmatched for the encore, as he performed earlier works including “Two®,” a song he hadn’t played since 2018.

Overall, it was an incredible live rap show due to the creative production and immaculate energy brought on by Lil Uzi Vert. Nothing could beat the bright pink stage, Uzi’s dedication to performing, and the vigorous passion of his fans.
