After embarking on their “Blame Game” North American Tour, Beach Bunny makes a stop in Houston and plays a sold out show at White Oak, with special guest Miloe.
Based from Chicago, Beach Bunny is an indie rock band that formed in 2015 and consists of lead singer Lili Trifilio, drummer Jon Alvarado, guitarist Matt Henkels, and bassist Anthony Vaccaro. Beach Bunny was initially Trifilio’s solo project and even released EPs like Animalism and Crybaby, and then eventually turned into a four-piece rock band. They’ve released their debut album Honeymoon, which has their viral TikTok hit “Cloud 9.” They’ve continued to release music ever since, such as their successful EP Blame Game and their most-recent single “Oxygen.”
After the wonderful Miloe ended their set, Beach Bunny opened their show with their melodic hit “Prom Queen,” and everyone was jamming. Trifilio was constantly encouraging fans to mosh and crowdsurf, so there was never a dull moment. Everyone can be heard yelling the lyrics, screaming their lungs out and having the time of their lives. What made it feel more “at home” was their in-between song banter, where members would constantly tell the stories of when they used to visit Houston. Another great part of the show was the aesthetic, which included a set of “Blame Game” themed arcade games on each side of the stage. Overall, their Houston set was undeniably great, and it’s safe to say that Beach Bunny a worthy band to see live.
