Hazy Sky Kicks Off Their First Tour at Axelrad in Houston

It was a very exciting night on January 4, 2024 when Houston’s own, Hazy Sky, had their last hometown show before setting off on their headlining tour. The show was accompanied by three other local artists and bands, Forget-Me-Nots, Sad Allen, and Lily Pesikoff.

First up for the night was Lily Pesikoff. While more frequently known in band The Backroom Rumors, Pesikoff got to showcase her talent to the crowd with her very own solo set. With just herself and a guitar, she stunned with her soft voice and instrumentals.

Next up was indie band, Sad Allen. Their set was incredibly energetic as they sang songs across their discography, including ones from their most recent EP, Isn’t It A Good Thing?. With much dancing and great vibes, the band even brought up audience members to help them cover Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the U.S.A.” towards the end of the set.

Shortly after Sad Allen, the crowd erupted in cheer as Hazy Sky took the stage. Their set was upbeat and entrancing as they sang songs from their 2022 EP, Inglorious Clouds in addition to their newest single, “Adidas Slides.” This performance was extra special because it was the band’s first night on their nine-date tour. With five of the dates in Texas, they will also venture out to states such as Louisiana, Tennessee and Kansas.

Concluding the night was Forget-Me-Nots. This punk-rock band gave a lively set that was full of head-banging the whole time. The bands strong vocals and great playing were supported by the lead singers’ moves as well. As they jumped around the stage, the audience couldn’t help but start jumping with them.

Overall, the show was full of great performances all around. As excitement filled the air from start to finish, it was the perfect way to wish farewell to Hazy Sky as they set off for their first tour. You can keep up with the band and their tour on instagram @reallyhazysky!

I am from Houston, Texas and currently attending the University of Houston as a marketing major! From attending concerts, playing guitar, and collecting vinyl, I love anything that has to do with music. Some of my favorite artists include The Strokes, Omar Apollo, and boygenius. Besides that, I really like shopping, watching Pitch Perfect, and discovering new places in Houston!
