Suki Waterhouse Dazzles Fans at House of Blues in Houston

Suki Waterhouse performed an amazing show at House of Blues Houston on The Sparklemuffin Tour. She was accompanied by indie-rock artist Bully. They both came together to captivate fans with their amazing stage presence, and fun energy.

During Bully’s opening set, House of Blues was packed, making the night already amazing. Bully was an amazing opener, bringing an amazing energy into the audience. She complimented Waterhouse’s set well, bringing rage and a more subversive sound to the stage. If fans weren’t a fan of her before, after hearing her songs “Docket,” “Lose You” and “Change Your Mind,” were sure to win them over with their uniqueness and high energy sound, while also maintaining a grunginess. Definitely check out this very underrated artist if you are looking for a lighter, female version of Green Day.

Next Suki Waterhouse began her set with a bang. She wore black leather pants and paired it with a pink, sparkly jacket that was paired with pink feathers on her cuffs. It felt reminiscent of older rock artists with their amazing stage costumes. She started off with “Gateway Drug,” after the crowd was wound up with energy she transitioned into her iconic trio of songs “Supersad,” “OMG” and “Johanna.” She ran back and forth on stage, reaching into the crowd, posing for the audience, engaging fans throughout her entire set. After singing “Blackout Drunk,” she debuted “Helpless” and “Nonchalant,” which are both two new songs on her album Memoir of a Sparklemuffin. A fan in the audience caught her attention after the two songs, asking her to take a selfie with the audience, reminding Waterhouse that she had done the same a few years prior. Waterhouse grabbed the fans phone, excitedly saying that it felt like she was finally on tour, and took a selfie with the crowd. Afterwards, another fan asked her why she chose the word Sparklemuffin for her tour, album and book. Essentially, it is a bug with a colorful exterior known for performing a dance with its mate. Waterhouse views this as a funny metaphor for life.

After debiting “Big Love,” she transitioned into “Moves” and “To Love,” which elicited cheers from the crowd. Before she ended her set, she dedicated “Good Looking” to all of the boys in the crowd, then left the stage. She had an amazing encore of “Brutally” and “Model, Actress, Whatever,” before ending the night.
