Greta Van Fleet made jaws drop in Houston on the third stop on their ‘Starcatcher World Tour’.
Rock band Greta Van Fleet stopped in Houston at the Toyota Center on July 28 supported by Silversun Pickups. Hailing from Michigan, Greta Van Fleet is well known for their impressive instrumental abilities and powerful vocals. They have formed a huge fan base in recent years, and nearly sold out the massive stadium.
Silversun Pickups, the opener of the concert, provided a thrilling start to the show and raised the excitement. The band played notable tunes including their hit song “Lazy Eye.”
As Greta Van Fleet was nearing to take the stage, a long orchestral introduction played while the anticipation intensified. When the curtain fell, the band stood together and the crowd roared. They kicked off their show with the new song “The Falling Sky” from the album Starcatcher, released earlier in July. Pyrotechnics were set off throughout the performance and added more entertainment and flair to the production. The third song of Greta Van Fleet’s set was “Lover, Leaver (Taker, Believer)”, which consisted of a long and elaborate guitar solo from Jake Kiszka. Frontman Josh Kiszka had multiple outfit changes throughout the show during Jake’s solos, sporting his signature jumpsuits and silver jewelry. Midway through the band’s performance after an explosive drum solo from Danny Wagner, the members took to stage B for an acoustic cover of “Unchained Melody” by Alex North & Hy Zaret, with the band’s bassist and keyboardist Sam Kiszka playing beautifully on the keys. They also played their new song “Waited All Your Life” and the track “Black Smoke Rising” from their From the Fires double EP, released back in 2017. When Greta Van Fleet took back to the main stage, they played three more tracks from Starcatcher, followed by a breathtaking encore including their hit song “Light My Love” and the final track from Starcatcher, “Farewell For Now”.
Greta Van Fleet put on a truly magnificent and high production performance, keeping the crowd entertained and mesmerized for the entire duration. The Starcatcher World Tour will continue until December 6, with the last stop being located in Lisbon, Portugal.
