“Freakin’ Out” (on the Interstate) Over Briston Maroney’s Performance at the Georgia Theater

On September 8th, the American singer-songwriter, Briston Maroney, played a sold-out show at
the Georgia Theater in the heart of Athens, Georgia.

The night started around 7:30 pm with the opening act, Medium Build. The indie/ alternative
band played some of their most popular songs, such as “comeonback,” “Be Your Boy,” and
“Rabbit,” as well as some unreleased music. The four-man band recently relocated to
Anchorage, Alaska, and is currently in the process of releasing new music. Their latest single,
“ALONE IN MY CAR,” came out back in July, and their newest song “Rage,” is set to be
released on September 14th. They put on a great show and got the crowd hyped up for Briston
Maroney.

Around 8:45 pm, Briston Maroney came out on stage accompanied by his band. The
alternative/indie artist decorated the stage with greenery and fairy lights. Briston played a variety
of his music, ranging from his first EP, “Big Shot,” back in 2017, as well his most recent single
“Paradise.” The audience had a blast dancing, singing, jumping, and interacting with the artist. A
few dance circles and even two crowd surfs managed to form in the pit. Briston sang some of
his most beloved songs, such as “Small Talk,” “Fool’s Gold,” “Freeway,” and “Freakin’ Out on the
Interstate.”

Briston Maroney is currently on his “All Abroad Tour” which started back in August. The
twenty-four-year-old artist took off after his sophomore EP “Carnival” back in 2018. His most
recent album, “Sunflower: Deluxe,” came out earlier this year. He will be on tour until early
November of this year with special guests Francis of Delirium and Medium Build.
