Fans Fall in Love with Montell Fish at the House of Blues Dallas

Opener Kacy Hill accompanies headliner Montell Fish at the House of Blues in Dallas.

Last week, alternative artist Montell Fish continued his “Charlotte Tour” at the House of Blues in Dallas, Texas. On this tour, he was joined by indie artist Kacy Hill. On this warm fall night, hundreds of fans lined up at the gated entrance and around the block. Inside of the venue, attendees shopped for merch, grabbed drinks and snacks, and gathered on the main floor and balcony.

The first act of the night was Kacy Hill, a singer-songwriter from Arizona. She has almost 200 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, and her track “Arm’s Length” has accumulated more than 20 million streams. This year, Kacy released several singles as well as her fourth studio album titled BUG. At this show, Kacy was accompanied by her guitarist on stage. She wore a long sleeved white dress as well as cowboy boots, both perfect for the Texas weather. Kacy’s performance was melodious and engaging, and she made sure to interact with her fellow band member and audience in between songs.

The final act of the night was Montell Fish, an R&B artist from Pennsylvania. He has more than 13 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and his track “Fall in Love with You.” has garnered almost 400 million streams. This year, Montell released a handful of singles as well as his latest album Charlotte. Before Montell began his set, the stage was decorated with lamps, tables, and a rug which resembled a living room.

He wore a comfortable hoodie and sweats, and performed a compilation of fan favorite songs including “Bathroom” and “Scream My Name”. Aside from singing, Montell also switched back and forth from playing the guitar and keyboard. Montell’s fans sang along to every word from start to end, and exclaimed how much they loved him. Overall, both Kacy Hill and Montell Fish gave strong and intimate performances that felt as if we were watching them practice in their own home.
