Explosions In The Sky Draws a Crowd at Paper Tiger in San Antonio

Explosions In The Sky bring ‘The End’ Tour to San Antonio with support from Combo Cósmico.

Explosions In The Sky kicked off their U.S. leg of ‘The End’ Tour in San Antonio, TX on January 19 at The Paper Tiger. Hailing from just up I-35 in Austin, TX, Explosions In The Sky played to a massive crowd pouring out of both garage doors on a cold night on the St. Mary’s Strip.

The post-rock band is touring off their eighth studio album, End, which was released in the fall of 2023. If you’re anything like me, you’re wondering if this is their final album or tour. There’s no need to panic because the band confirmed that the title is merely tied into the new album’s concept.

During the show, Explosions in the Sky played a variety of songs like “Loved Ones” and “The Fight” from their most recent album and crowd favorites like “Your Hand In Mine.” The set felt like an incredible journey of twists and turns. At times, the crowded room felt so still and other moments were loud and energetic.

Explosions In The Sky invited local artists from every stop on the tour to open for them. San Antonio was graced with their very own Combo Cósmico.
