Dutch Interior Makes Their Chicago debut at The Empty Bottle

Dutch Interior, the California-based band, devoured their first-ever headlining tour with support from Poor Image and Sleeper’s Bell.

On Wednesday night, Chicagoans gathered at the Empty Bottle for an enjoyable evening of music. As the venue filled and the chatter grew louder, excitement filled the air as the eager crowd waited for the show to begin. Sleeper’s Bell, a local Chicago band, opened the night with a dreamy and energetic set. They delivered a captivating performance, playing hits from their latest record, Clover. Audience members swayed throughout the set, nodding and tapping their feet to the rhythm of the drums and the easy guitar. With a slightly indie-twang sound, Sleeper’s Bell perfectly set the stage for their following openers, Poor Image.

Making their Chicago debut, the California natives Poor Image delivered a delightful set supporting Dutch Interior. Gaining recognition, the group showcased their impeccable harmony on the Empty Bottle stage. The audience was captivated, some in complete silence as the performance progressed. With a sound reminiscent of shoegaze, the band relaxed the crowd with their chill energy. For weeks, they have been touring North America alongside Dutch Interior, with this performance marking the end of said tour. In my opinion, there couldn’t have been a better opening act for the headliners than Poor Image. Keep an eye on this group; they’re making moves!

As the lights dim and the crowd finishes their Miller High Lifes, Dutch Interior takes the stage. This six-member band, also from California, is playing for the first time in the Midwest. And they are ready to deliver an unforgettable performance. Featuring tracks from both their new and older records, Dutch Interior proves they are no amateurs. The audience is especially thrilled by songs from their latest record, Moneyball,  which has received high praise, and the crowd’s enthusiasm reverberates within the walls of the Empty Bottle.

Vape clouds and cheers for more beer are seen as the band plays through the night, creating an intimate, house-show atmosphere. The mix of crazy guitar riffs and slow, western country vibes resonates powerfully through the speakers, causing the crowd to move in unison. This is a night the audience will remember. The Dutch Interior’s performance was remarkable, ensuring that their fans left in absolute awe. I can’t wait to see what these California cowboys have in store for us in the future.
