We’re not done yet – Austin City Limits 2024 is back for Weekend Two featuring performances from St. Lucia, Norah Jones, and more.
The second weekend of Austin’s biggest festival brings back weekend one headliners and new weekend two exclusives such as Late Night Drive Home, Thee Sinseers, and St. Lucia.
Late Night Drive Home
El Paso natives kicked Austin City Limits / Weekend Two off at the Honda stage. They played a mix of slower and faster songs, with a great breakdown in one song that transitioned between the two speeds. They nailed their first-ever ACL performance with great talent and energy.
Sir Chloe
The indie-rock band took over the T-Mobile stage in all-white outfits, except for lead singer Dana Foote in black. She sang their signature melancholic songs, including hits “Mercy” and “Michelle.” Fans got a surprise first listen to a new song that had been written but not even recorded yet.
Thee Sinseers
This band definitely had one of the largest ensembles of the festival with 11 members taking the stage. Trombone, trumpet, tenor sax, bari sax, two guitars, bass, two singers, drums, and keys combined into an amazing group sound. The east LA soul band had a great vibe, playing for ACL songs that also made for an incredible NPR Tiny Desk performance.
Norah Jones
The multi-Grammy winning jazz singer started her set at a white grand piano. Her relaxing music was a great change of pace for those looking to slow things down before the first night’s headliners. Jones later moved to synth and guitar, making her way through her discography of hits.
St. Lucia
Over on the IHG stage, St. Lucia’s synth-pop rang from the speakers. The band sported matching red jumpsuits and played hits such as “Dancing on Glass” and their new single “Fear of Falling” that nobody else had ever heard live.
The Marías
The indie-pop group brought their mesmerizing music to the T-Mobile stage. They focused on their newly released album Submarine, which emphasizes a jazzier sound.
Chris Stapleton
Country star Chris Stapleton took over the American Express stage with the Austin skyline as his background. He brought out surprise guest and Austin legend Willie Nelson for a duet, then ended the night with “Tennessee Whiskey.” The final song ended the first night of weekend two on a sweet note. He sang the track as a duet with his wife, and the extended version had the crowd swaying together.
ACL Fest Overall
Dust in the air and the heat of the day fading, the fans had finished the day at Austin City Limits. Time to do it all again, and then again.
