Cursive Took Austin Concertgoers Up and Away at Mohawk

Cursive made a stop at Mohawk during their ‘Happiness is In The Devouring’ Tour on a cold night in Austin with support from Pile.

The Omaha-based indie rock band released their latest album, Devourer, last fall. They played a new songs like “Dark Star” and “Bloodbather” for the first time in Austin. Cursive opted to not leave the stage before their encore. Instead, lead singer Tim Kasher reminded the audience to stay vigilant in the current state of our country. They ended the set with back to back classics including “The Martyr,” “The Casualty” and “The Recluse”. Kasher jumped into the crowd in the final seconds of the show.

Pile was supporting Cursive on the second leg of their US tour and got the crowd warmed up at Mohawk. The post-hardcore four piece hailing from Boston took concertgoers on a rollercoaster of sound with a heavy hitter, “The Soft Hands of Stephen Miller,” to end their set.
