Clairo begins her ‘Charm’ Tour trek at The Factory in Dallas with support from Alice Phoebe Lou.
Last Friday, singer-songwriter Clairo kicked off her “Charm Tour” at The Factory in Dallas, Texas. This show was sold out weeks in advance, and the queue to enter the venue wrapped around the building long before doors opened. Immediately upon walking into the venue, there were hundreds of fans lined up to buy merchandise. Clairo’s merch included various shirts, tote bags, hats, and posters.
Many attendees wore chic clothing, with several women wearing ribbon tops and flowery dresses and men wearing button up shirts and pleated slacks. Inside of the main room, thousands of fans lined up across the barricade and floor enthusiastically waiting for the show to begin. In the meantime, the audience sipped on cocktails and coffee and discussed which songs they wanted to hear performed live. Set up on the stage was a large pink curtain, which would be highlighted in the second half of the show.
The first act to hit the stage was Alice Phoebe Lou, an alternative artist from South Africa. Alice has over 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and her track “Witches” has accumulated more than 40 million streams. Last year, Alice released her fifth studio album Shelter, and this year she released her single “The World Above”.
On stage, Alice was accompanied by her drummer, bassist, guitarist, and keyboardist. She wore a brown tank dress, accessorized with comfy tennis shoes and a baseball hat. Alice opened her set with her dreamy track “Touch”, which was followed up by her emotional track “Open My Door”.
Throughout her performance, Alice maintained beautiful and powerful vocals while also playing the guitar and dancing. In between songs, she mentioned that it was her first time in Dallas and also thanked Clairo for inviting her to join the tour. Alice closed her set with a fan favorite track, “Dirty Mouth”.
The last act to hit the stage was Clairo, a pop artist from Georgia. Clairo has almost 20 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and her track “Sofia” has garnered more than 700 million streams. In July, Clairo released her latest album Charm which featured the two singles “Sexy to Someone” and “Nomad”. After walking onto the stage, Clairo and her band shared a drink and talked amongst themselves while the intro music played in the background.
Clairo wore a pink and green striped dress, clear heels, and black headphones. Clairo opened her set with her idyllic track “Nomad”, which was followed up by her catchy track “Second Nature”. On stage, Clairo was accompanied by her drummer, bassist, guitarist, and two keyboardists. The stage design was bright and sparkling, and gave the audience members a sense of nostalgia. Clairo’s setlist included several old and new fan favorite songs, including “Flaming Hot Cheetos”, “4EVER”, and “Bags”.
Overall, both Alice Phoebe Lou and Clairo’s performances were dynamic, intimate, and unforgettable.
