For countless months, devoted music enthusiasts from Chicago eagerly anticipated the evenings of August 10th and 11th, 2024. As the historic nearly 200-year-old venue filled, the air was filled with palpable excitement and jubilant conversations among the audience members. As the lights gradually dimmed and the final cans of Miller Light were opened, the talented Chicago native Lake J took the spotlight. Following the energetic performance by Lake J, the stage was graced by the second act of the night, featuring the immensely talented local musician, Hannah Frances. As the lights softly transitioned to a mesmerizing pink, Hannah, accompanied by a 7-piece band, took center stage. In a striking all-black ensemble, her presence exuded a sense of refinement that filled the entire room. The ethereal combination of woodwinds, guitar, bass, and saxophone seamlessly intertwined with Hannah’s angelic vocals, gradually wrapping the audience in a warm embrace. Throughout their set, Hannah and her band displayed an incredible synergy, like warm butter on toast – each musician complementing the others with remarkable finesse. The performance culminated in an awe-inspiring song, enhanced by an explosive saxophone solo, leaving the audience spellbound. For those who have not yet experienced Hannah Frances, undoubtedly have her music being played on repeat in the days to come.

As the countdown to Whitney’s appearance drew to a close, the electric atmosphere took over the entire venue. When Julien Ehrlich and Max Kakcek took the Tahlia stage, the crowd erupted with euphoria. Beginning with a timeless track, the air was filled with the reverberating sounds of whistles and cheers, while soft hues of purple, blue, and pink lights illuminated the faces of the spectators. It was unmistakable – the overwhelming love for Whitney from the Chicago crowd.

As Whitney unleashed their music, waves of emotion swept through the audience. Seamlessly blending old favorites with new tracks, the band delivered soft yet powerful vocals, guitar, and drums, creating a harmonious experience for everyone present. The performance felt like a jubilant celebration of Whitney’s artistry, leaving an indelible mark on all those in attendance. It was truly a sight to behold as they exuded an infectious energy and seamlessly vibed with the audience during their set.
