Last week in Austin, TX, Bayside celebrated 25 years with two final shows at Emo’s, marking the end of the second leg of The Errors Tour.
The tour set out to celebrate all nine of Bayside’s records with night one featuring songs from Sirens and Condolences, Self-Titles, Walking Wounded, and Shudder and night two featuring songs from Killing Time, Cult, Vavancy, Interroband, and There are Worse Things Than Being Alive.
Concertgoers were ready to reminisce on their Myspace days and packed the house for night one. Lead singer Anthony Raneri talked about how special it was to be able to play so many songs that they don’t normally get to cover during a regular tour, including songs like “Guardrail.” Night one’s crowd knew every word and sang along to songs like “Dear Tragedy,” “No One Understands,” and “Duality.” The first night’s set ended with a Bayside cult classic, “Devotion and Desire.”

Bayside expressed their gratitude for fans coming to night two and continuing to support their newer records. Since this night was focused on the second half of their discography, they were able to get into deeper cuts from these albums, including “Indiana.” They released their latest record, There Are Worse Things Than Being Alive, last spring, and the crowd in Austin did not disappoint with singing along to new songs like “Miracle” and “Castaway.” The final night ended with Sick, Sick, Sick.
The Smoking Popes were supporting Bayside on the second leg of the tour. The Chicago based band played a song that they recently released on January 6 in response to the 2024 election titled “Allegiance” and as lead singer NAME eloquently stated “our version of their version of our version of Megan.”
