Australian Heartthrob RUEL makes appearance in Dallas

Australian singer Ruel performs a spectacular show at House of Blues Dallas with special guest Carlie Hanson.

A singular spotlight shines on pop singer Carlie Hanson as she is welcomed by Dallas fans ready to get the night started. She is accompanied on stage by a male guitarist she says she met two days ago. From dancing, yelling and singing in deep funny voices, Hanson brings a warm familiar feeling by her confidence on stage. She takes pride in her hometown Onalaska, Wisconsin in her songs “Fish out of Water” and “608” featured on her most recent album “Wisconsin” that released March 10. Hanson explains that the meaning of her song 608 is about her hometown in Wisconsin. Something meaningful to her is her hometown area code that she never changed. Her stage presence is immaculate getting all members of the audience involved by repeating her lyrics back to her echoing the venue.

As the building blacks out, spotlights search the crowd as a godly voice calls out for a suspicious male subject wearing a blue suit, 6 feet and 5 inches tall. Suddenly as the crowd yells and cheers, Ruel emerges from the blue fog. Debuting his latest album “4th Wall” the Australian heartthrob opens with “GO ON WITHOUT ME”. The audience could hardly hear him from the crowd singing. Fans were so loud during hit song “Dazed and Confused,” Ruel let the audience sing the last chorus alone with no band. The audience did not disappoint with presence and participation. The last time Ruel made his way to Dallas in 2019, he played in the Cambridge room in House of Blues which is significantly smaller than the Foundation room. The venue of true fans have been patiently waiting for his reappearance back to the states and could not be happier to see the fan base grow.

I have always had a passion for anything music from playing shows myself (I play bass and guitar) to music photography. When I am not taking pictures or at a concert, I run a small jewelry business and work at a local guitar shop!
