Openers Larry G(ee), Almost Monday, Badflower, and The Beaches accompany headliner 311 at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving for ALT 103.7‘s ALT-ERIUM.

On May 10, five alternative artists came together for a night of music at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas. The performers in order were: Larry G(ee), Almost Monday, Badflower, The Beaches, and 311. Before the show kicked off, fans gathered at the barricade to secure the best spot to see their favorite band.

Larry G(ee)

The first act of the night was Larry G(ee), a soul artist from Dallas. On stage, he was accompanied by a full band that was composed of a backup singer, guitarist, bassist, drummer, and trumpet/saxophone instrumentalists. During their set, Larry G(ee) and his band played a mix of original and cover songs. Their performance was high energy and established the tone for the remainder of the evening.

Almost Monday

The second act to hit the stage was Almost Monday, a pop trio from San Diego. Their live band was comprised of lead singer Dawson Daugherty, guitarist Cole Clisby, bassist Luke Fabry, and drummer Rafael Vidal. Almost Monday’s set incorporated several fan tracks such as “sunburn”, “sun keeps on shining”, and “jupiter”. The music got the crowd dancing and wishing for warm, summery weather.

Badflower

The night’s third act was Badflower, a rock band from Los Angeles. Their set had a bold start, with lead singer Josh Katz jumping on the drum set platform before heading to the microphone stand. All four Badflower members, including guitarist Joey Morrow, bassist Alex Espiritu, and drummer Anthony Sonetti, put on an electric performance. Between songs, the band also had funny and genuine interactions with the crowd.

The Beaches

The fourth act to hit the stage was The Beaches, an indie band from Toronto. During their set, guitarist Leandra Earl showed admiration for the state and wore a shirt that said “I Love Texas Girls”. The Beaches played a series of upbeat tracks such as “Me & Me”, “Blame Brett”, and “What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Paranoid”. Alongside singing and playing instruments, the all-female band had a fun time dancing with each other and the audience.

311

The last act of the night was 311, a reggae band from Omaha. At the barricade, countless fans had 311 tour merch on, and one woman even held a neon sign that proudly stated “My 1st 311 Concert!!”. During their performance, the band had strong chemistry on stage with each other. The attendees sang along to every word, and the excitement in the venue was undeniable. Overall, ALTERIUM was the perfect way to bring alternative listeners from all over Texas together for one night.
