After an eight-year hiatus, Blues rock group Alabama Shakes brings their latest tour to Dallas, Texas.
On September 27, fans flocked to The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory to see the grand return of Alabama Shakes. With the stage set as a lush, green forest, accompanies by the soothing sounds of the crickets before the band came out for their performance, fans knew they were in for a great show. The set list was full of fan favorites from both of Alabama Shakes’ albums, Sound & Color and Boys & Girls. The band was also pleased to play their new song, “Another Life“, which fans were very excited to hear.
The Alabama Shakes brought along some amazing artists on this tour. Eleven artists were spread out to open for them throughout their tour. In Dallas, Greyhounds opened up with their soul funk set, accompanied by a dancing moon man. They were ecstatic to be in Dallas that night and were also pleased to play all three shows with Alabama Shakes in their home state of Texas.

Alabama Shakes first entered the music scene in 2011 with their single “Heavy Chevy”, but quickly became popular in 2012 with their album Boys & Girls. Not only did it rank fairly high on the Billboard charts, but the record was nominated for a few Grammys as well. After the release of their latest album, Sound & Color, the band decided to take a break from music. Members of the band decided to explore music on their own, including lead singer and guitarist, Brittany Howard, who was very active within her solo career during the last few years of Alabama Shakes’ hiatus.
In January, Alabama Shakes posted on Instagram that they were working on something really special. Fans were no doubt ecstatic about the return of the iconic band. Shortly after that, they announced that they were going on tour and they are very excited to make their comeback. While their tour has almost come to a close, fans are thrilled to see what the band has in store for them next.
