History
Founders Keylee Paz and Emily Martinez were roommates who attended the University of Texas at Austin. The idea of “Off Record” started off with a long-distance phone call during the COVID-19 pandemic, where they each stated their plans after graduation. They wanted to find their own way to contribute to the media, and decided to team up and blend their ideas together to start an independent digital publication. Because of this, the duo realized that other publications focused on the established portion of music and media. After much discussion and planning with Keylee’s longtime friend Anthony Ciocco, Off Record Blog was born.
OFF RECORD refers to the terms “Off The Record,” which refers to topics that are kept from the public. Our publication is an effort to shed more light on the local music scenes (wide-range concerts to smaller showcases) all over Texas, and as a result, speak about the lesser-known creatives/blocks of the entertainment industry.
