Starting off their “Every Shade of Blue” Tour in Texas, indie-folk band The Head and The Heart returned to Houston and played a mesmerizing show with special guests, Dawes.
While the unforeseeable weather pushed doors to open 30 minutes later, fans were ready to catch the acts performing that night. Serving as the openers for the first part of the tour, Los Angles based band Dawes took the stage. They played hits that we’re well-known amongst fans, such as “Time Spent in Los Angeles” and “Crack the Case.” Lead Singer Taylor Goldsmith was extremely interactive with the crowd, especially during the final song “When My Time Comes,” in which everyone sang their hearts out.
30 minutes after Dawes, The Head and The Heart took the stage and everyone immediately cheered. They started off their set with the title track of their most recent 5th album Every Shade of Blue. Their stage visuals were absolutely beautiful and fitting with their new album’s signature style – they played other songs like “Enemy Lines,” “Tiebreaker,” and “Same Hurt.” They also played a combination of older songs – “All We Ever Knew” from Signs of Light, “Missed Connection” from Living Mirage, “Another Story” from Let’s Be Still. They ended their amazing set with the heart-wrenching “Rivers and Roads” from their self-titled debut album. Overall, the show had an amazing flow and great vibes, perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy a chill concert.
