Jordan Topf, also known as Windser, releases the eclectic single “Friends I Barely Know” – a single from his upcoming debut EP Where the Redwoods Meet the Sea that is set for release this October.
“Where the Redwoods Meet the Sea…” the phrase Jordan Topf’s late father used to describe his hometown of Santa Cruz, California. This phrase would subsequently become the title to Topf’s debut EP after becoming a solo artist during the pandemic. Topf, who also goes by stage name Windser (named after the street Topf grew up on), has been on the rise since the start of his musical career, as he has reached many major milestones. After being the featured artist on Macklemore’s comeback single “Next Year,” Windser became a well-known moniker in the indie/alternative music scene with the vibrant hit single “Memory.” The song was featured all over the airwaves and streaming platforms, including AltNation’s (Sirius XM) critical cut on-air playlist. Of course, he didn’t stop there.
After a few successful tours as an opener and garnering new fans, Windser is finally releasing his first ever debut EP Where the Redwoods Meet the Sea, set for release this October. While “Memory” is supposed to appear on the EP, Topf release a brand new song from the EP called “Friends I Barely Know.” The single partially serves as a follow-up to “Memory,” as it strongly encapsulates nostalgia through wistful songwriting about his hometown memories. He sings the powerful lyrics: “Now I’m standing / In a mosh pit / Surrounded by friends that I barely know.” The song’s overall message stresses the importance of finding blissful joy in all of life’s small moments – all through captivating vocals, melodic guitars and a snappy chorus.
“Friends I Barely Know” and “Memory” are just a glimpse of what is yet to come, as it is evident that Windser is here to stay for the long-run. While they have no touring plans to date, we still encourage everyone to pre-save Winder’s upcoming debut EP Where the Redwoods Meet the Sea, which will be released October 12th.
