Dexter and The Moonrocks play a sold-out show at the Stockyards

Alternative western band, Dexter and The Moonrocks, sell out Tannahill’s Tavern and Music Hall in the Stockyard of Fort Worth.

On July 28th, southern alternative rock band, Dexter and The Moonrocks brought their SAD. IS. BACK. summer tour to the Tannahill’s Tavern and Music Hall in the Fort Worth Stockyards. With the show being sold out, the crowd had a lot of die-hard fans that loved screaming their favorite songs like “Couch” and “Birds and the Bees.” The fans have been a big part of the band from the beginning. Back in 2021, Dexter and The Moonrocks released their first single “Couch,” which quickly took off, and a little while after the release, their fans dubbed the band’s genre as “Western Space Grunge.” The band has played off of this genre ever since, especially with their merch. Western Space Grunge is also the title of their first upcoming debut EP which is set to release on July 19th this year. They are very excited to release their first debut EP after only releasing singles since 2021 and just recently getting signed onto a record label. The band decided to go on a tour in honor of their achievements and to get the fans excited for the next release.

Opening for Dexter and The Moonrocks that night in the Stockyards were Texas-based singer-songwriter, Austin Upchurch, and southern rocker, Red Leather. These artists were amazing to open up for Dexter and The Moonrocks. They were both fun and had upbeat sounds that the crowd absolutely loved. Both of these artists were definitely added to the crowd’s listening lists after the show as both artists were energetic and interacted with the fans as well. Over all the night was full of happy, screaming, and dancing fans. Many fans were able to see them now for the first time and took that opportunity to soak in every moment of the concert. Any of them would highly recommend you give them a listen if you haven’t already, along with the amazing openers as well.
