On October 10th, 2024, Remi Wolf and opener slimdan lit up a sold-out Houston crowd with a vibrant, high-energy performance that left fans buzzing long after the show ended.
As fans started flooding the venue, eager to see the show, they were greeted with a sign that read, “I’M SLIMDAN YOUR NEW FAV NEPO BABY.” This perfectly prepped the crowd for the comedic-nature of the singer, getting them hyped for the opening act. When he finally came out, Houston was not disappointed. Singing a handful of songs from his newest album Second Dinner, and a cover of Avril Lavigne’s “Complicated,” slimdan gave a great set.
Taking the stage shortly after was Remi Wolf, an indie singer from California who has always stood out for her incredibly strong voice and consistent blend of funk and pop elements in her music. As soon as Wolf took the stage, her bright presence took over the room and the audience’s eyes and ears were hooked. The set began with “Cherries & Cream,” “Cinderella” and “Pitiful.”
Every single song showcased the performer’s voice, leaving the crowd in awe after each concluded. Wolf sang many hits from her newest album Big Ideas, as well as fan favorites such as “Michael,” “Disco Man” and “Photo ID.” She even sang a cover of “Life is a Highway” as well as an improv song that blew the audience away.
Remi Wolf’s stop in Houston was an unforgettable experience, and the city will be eagerly waiting for her return!
I am from Houston, Texas and currently attending the University of Houston as a marketing major! From attending concerts, playing guitar, and collecting vinyl, I love anything that has to do with music. Some of my favorite artists include The Strokes, Omar Apollo, and boygenius. Besides that, I really like shopping, watching Pitch Perfect, and discovering new places in Houston!
